Glock G23, buy a 9mm conversion barell or get a G19?

I did it once, bought what I thought was a 26 at a gun show, it was a 27, was new to Glocks, (many years ago) loaded the mag went out back and didn't hit a paper plate at 10 yards, though what th, and picked up the brass and it was bell shaped, the 9 just rattled down the barrel and went who knows where.

I agree except for the mags part. I've heard a lot of guys say that the G23 mags will run 9mm just fine.
No. 9mm ammo will NOT feed from the 40 S&W magazine. The feed lips are slightly ttoo far apart to contain the cartridge properly. The 40 S&W WILL feed from 9MM magazines but you will lose one round capacity from the standard count of the 40 mag. For instance, a G23 mag is 13 rounds. Using a 15 round G19 mag will allow you to hold 12 rounds of 40 S&W.

Yeah I've looked into it and all you need is a conversion Barrel (357 sig or 9mm) and the mag for that caliber. Some people go even further and swap out the extractor but it's not needed.
