Glocks in .40 blowing up?

I saw a video of(so it said) a Taurus launching a barrel down range.Looked like a revolver with a 4"barrel.If Glocks are blowing,I`d look at overzealous handloading first. When I was a teenager,I pulled a bullet out of a .22 longrifle cartridge. When I saw that the factory only loaded the rounds with about one-third of the amount of powder that the cartridge would hold,I used powder from other rounds to make me some"varmint rounds".The first and only round that I fired blew the bolt open(and I was holding it shut, just in case.Extracter left the area, never to be found.Wood flew outa the stock.End of my 1st finger opened up like a snake`s mouth.Powder burns on face.Ears rang.End of story.Rifle was a new Remington bolt action.Seems like the bolt blew out of the gun,but I`m not sure.

I didn't realize that my brother was on here, no way two different people could have done that!;)

The KB stuff and Glocks is old news by now. The problem came out of older .40s and reloaded ammo. Google just about any kind of gun and kaboom and you will find multiple incidences of such an occurrence. The non-fully supported chamber stuff is a load of crap. You would be surprised as to what is actually exposed on many firearms. The amount of force required to split a barrel or slide is immense, and would be done irregardless of the amount of case support.

The Kboom issue is old news. If you think about how many GLOCKS are sold there will be a failure somewhere. I still think they are one of the most reliable pistols around.

When i got my Glock 27 i noticed how loose the round seemed to be in the chamber. I talked to a buddy of mine who owns lots of different makes of handguns (HK, Glock, KelTec, Sig) He said he checked every gun he owns and they all seemed to have the same amount of play in them.
