What a shame...lots of history in Holden and its cars.

GM is withdrawing from more markets outside of the United States and China, stating on Sunday that it will slowly end sales, design and engineering operations in Australia and New Zealand and retire the Holden brand by 2021.

That will be very expensive as the cars will have to be converted to RHD there. I know there have been rumors they would design and manufacture Camaros to be both LHD & RHD. Ford has done that will the new Mustangs. Guess they could always import the same GM vehicles that are designed for the UK.

Just hate to see them close the brand.

There were some pretty cool Holden models that we never saw over here. Same goes for Ford. They had a much cooler Escort in Europe than over here. And they made an El Camino style model in Australia called the Falcon.
On the flip side I got to drive new Regals while I was at the port. I really liked the wagon. Then I saw the window sticker and it said Made for GM by Opel. No thanks. Same folks made the Catera.

What a shame. Holden still made some cool cars. GM sure has gone downhill. Add this to the rumor of the Camaro line ending production again in 2023.
