Good cheap laptops?

Anyone know where some decent cheap laptops are?

My GF is one of those people who think Apple computers are the end all be all of computers, but reality has struck that none of her work documents can be opened and easily transfered back and forth on Mac, and I'm tired of sharing mine with her.

"Can't open any PDF or word, because I don't have it on that stupid ass windows app"

"When they downloaded windows onto my mac it didn't have Acrobat or word into that windows app"

get office for mac and she can open any word file and will be cheaper than any windows laptop which you would still have to buy word for. Preview which comes on every mac will open any PDF file.

Okay, but she'd have to buy it twice, since she can only up her case files in her windows screen(the work system that shares info only works in windows). She says her windows screen is very slow with everything, so she would need to buy it for use on the Mac system.

I really hope this makes sense, but she opens windows 7 up in another screen on her computer.

Asus seems to be making some good stuff for the money. Picked one up from Best Buy not too long ago for less than 500.00 and have been very pleased.
