Good quality semi-auto shotgun recommendations?

OP, it is HARD TO GO WRONG with an older--Pre J-Lock--Remington 1100 or 1187--Yes, they DO need to be kept CLEAN, but when they are, they "Run" very reliably, and you will be REWARDED with one of the most "Pointable" Semiauto Shotguns ever made, as well as one of the most SOFT-SHOOTING, courtesy of it's Gas System AND it's Steel Receiver--HTH--mikey357

Beretta 391 all the way. I ran 9000 rounds through mine without a cleaning without a malfunction. If your planning on getting serious in competition shooting i would start looking into over unders.

Thanks for the input (no sarcasm).
Everyone I've talked to who owns them speaks well of the semi-auto's.
I decided to buy a Stoeger M3000 last week after reading very positive reviews (they were not so good for the previous model M2000).
Too early to talk about durability but after trying it at the skeet shooting range I am very pleased. I shot standard loads and low recoil rounds without a single problem.

Older 1100 's are hard to beat as long as you keep a decent o-ring/barrel seal in them.

Quality control on the new stuff is so poor I wouldn't touch anything new production. Who knows what the recalled triggers will come back like, but I bet you will get a finger cramp trying to shoot them.
This. They're for sale on here all the time. I got a new Beretta to replace the old 1100 I was using. No comparison. The 1100 is a better gun for 1/3 the price. With repetitive firing like you do shooting skeet, I think at the end of the day it's all about what's comfortable for you. I can shoot all day with the 1100, the Beretta starts to wear on me after a while.
