Got a good deal on a Mossberg, where can I go to shoot it?

It's an 835, barrel says "not for use with slugs",which means I can't shoot it at my local range. They said Johns Mountain WMA is the closest place they know of? It doesn't look very close to Canton, but I'll probably drive up there, gotta test her out! My neighbors get nervous about my p22, 12 gauge would probably be a bad idea.

Johns Mountain is nice, that's where i go (i'm in marietta). There used to be a sign there (last year) that said no shotguns allowed (except for slugs). It has since been taken down and i have seen people shooting 12ga's there. Make sure you go early in the morning and on a weekday if you can, they open at 9:30 i believe.

Creekside is not that far from you if you are talking about a range where you pay. They seem to be limiting their hours so check their website before you go but I've shot my shotgun there. They are an outdoor range - fyi. I've never been to Johns Mountain - that's a haul from Marietta isn't it ?

On the map Johns Mtn looks like a long way, may try it sometime though. But thanks for the Creekside info! I often get into Acworth for work. Creekside doesn't look too far from there. That could be a good detour late one afternoon.
