They asked me for my I.D. didn't have it ( Academy Sports) when I was buying 100 count of Hornady Projectiles . My wallet was in my truck . The manager explained it came up on the computer as to not risk losing their license to the ATF . I explained to them if my 10 yr old son was buying them in front of the ATF he was not breaking any laws . He kept repeating the word "Ammunition" but when I asked him if he loaded the "projectiles" I was buying into a firearm would it go "bang" ...He was very confused :noidea: Of course I had to make him look stupid in front of other customers , just could not resist .

Poor guy was just trying to do his job and enforce the company policy. Better off writing a letter to corporate if you disagree than to make yourself look foolish arguing with him. Isn't a projectile a component of ammunition anyway?

NOT Ammunition . I asked him what "Their" policy is and he stated they ask for I.D. when purchasing items such as "ammunition" ....Sorry but don't have time for letters just like I wasn't about to walk out to my truck and back in to show them my I.D. With that being said another manager after hearing my complaint decided to sell it to me after all the fuss ....My hair is grey , age spots everywhere and if someone said I look younger than 45 it would be a compliment .
