Cool experience that I thought I’d share for those who like owls. I helped rescue a Great Horned Owl this morning at my son’s soccer practice. It was caught in the soccer net. We removed the netting from around its wings, pretty sure one wing was injured, if not both, from struggling to escape the net. There was 3 of us trying to call any rescue place we could, I was trying every number on Tenn Wildlife, and couldn’t get a single answer from any of them go figure! I ended up carrying it away from the fields/kids while others looked for a box. It remained so calm the entire time, maybe due to exhaustion, but a truly amazing experience! Ended up placing it in a box and someone from fire rescue showed up to take it and find a vet t take it in. Stayed calm the entire time, surprisingly.
