Greatest female rock vocalists

Annie Wilson. Got to see her perform several times in the band's prime. Amazing range and power.
Linda Ronstadt for pure perfection.
Fast forward a few decades:
Gwen Stafani
Christina Agulera
Beth Hart (more bluesy but a most powerful voice
Another decade
Hannah Reid of London Grammar (catch her cover of Wicked Game....you won't be sorry)

I had mentioned Pat Benatar previously. We attended the concert at the Lakewood amphitheater that had three or four bands that night. Pat Benatar was one of the bands that played. Her voice was enough to blow you out of your seat. It sounded just like it did on DVD and the band was unbelievably crisp and clear. Those old bands have talent that is unparalleled. These days these new bands get into that digital enhancement and when you go see them in real life it's a complete let down. No doubt a lot of the music that's put out online is responsible for them getting by with a lot of that. But I'd say 75% of the bands out there sound like complete crap on stage. In the old days the bands relied on sheer talent to entertain and not a bunch of lights and explosions and all that stuff.
