Hey yall just bought a house i need help with picking out a good grill
i would like to say 400 or under any suggestions. charcoal or propane ?
where to buy?
any good models?

My first house I bought a huge expensive gas grill. Over time the more I got into cooking ang grilling I realized charcoal was the ONLY way to go. I bought a weber performer charcoal grill and learned how to cook ( smoke) many things. I am now cooking on the big green egg........ans would never.....ever consider going back to gas. Yes charcoal is more work........but for me its time used to relaxe and chill. The weber is around 275-300 at Home Depot. They also sell a kettle version for around 150. Good luck!!

Go ahead and spend the extra bucks for a Big Green Egg. It will out last you and you will have some fine eating. Grill, smoker and Pizza oven rolled into one.

Go charcoal for sure! If I hads the funds, I'd get a big green egg. My brother-in-law, the doctor, has one.

When you look back over the years at all the money you spend on cheaper grills the Egg is a bargain. It lasts and its the best out there in my opinion. And, I'm not a Doctor but, I did spend many a night in a Holiday Inn Express.

I've got 3 grills. I like different tools for different jobs ;)

Weber Kettle - classic charcoal grill. It's the best that I have. Just upgraded with a cast iron grate. I recommend a thermometer too. Start here if you want to take your time. Warning; you'll never be able to enjoy steak at places like Applebee's anymore.

Propane - type doesn't really matter, IMO. I got it as a secondary for parties and to grill quick hot dogs and burgers after work. I probably use it more often than the Weber. That just means it's better than my electric stove, which isn't saying much.

Old Smokey - inexpensive but good little US made charcoal grill. It's good for packing up on a trip. It's good for beer butt chicken because it's tall and compact. It'd work for grilling dinner for two.

The big green egg lives up to the hype if you can afford it. And i know its personal taste but I absolutely despise charcoal. It makes the food tastes like charcoal itself. But then I can swim in bourbon, but I hate jack daniels(anything charcoal filtered). So maybe I'm a little on the biased side. Taste the meat, not the heat.
There are some ir/propane combo grills so it cooks from the inside out and the outside in at the same time.
Plenty of choices
