First of all you should have your weapon already drawn and yes thank god no one was kill, but once they had me surrounded and he pull a weapon from his car I would have shot him where he stood. I would discuss this with GBI and a attorney. Okay I'm Not PC where they black?

I see gun..it's go time. The scenario written, there was clear and present danger. The OP flipped the coin, bet on the goodness of mankind and came out OK. But in my opinion, the ends does not justify the means. When threatened, especially with family..go and go all the way. The police would see a dropped weapon that's locked and loaded, a car blocking , and a dead person. You carry for a reason, and it's not to rely on the goodness of a person confronting you with a gun.
