Gun Shows Having a Revival?

Found some good buys at the Jonesboro Rd. show. Gotta get there early.
I find some humor when people say over and over they cannot find anything at the shows. Gotta know what your looking at and have cash to buy it in a lot of cases. Very rarely have I gone to a show and did not find something.
Curious to hear from others on here. Am I one of very few people on here that has a broad depth of knowledge on firearms and related items and their values and the cash to buy them?
Are there others here that can look at a box of parts and make an educated decision to buy or not?
Any others here that can identify a magazine in a box of junk that will bring a lot of money?
Any one else here that feels a rush when you see a new vendor with stuff on a table that everyone else just walks by?
Where are the previous Southeastern Arms Collectors members?
Where are the former table holders that we used to have a great weekend with at the shows?
Where are the true gun collectors that used to attend the shows?
Where are the product catagory experts that used to haunt the shows? The 1911 guys, the HK guys, the rimfire guys, the Colt guys, the S&W guys, the Winchester guys, the ammo guys?
Maybe we need a gun club for these folks that are dedicated and would put on 1 or 2 shows a year for members only. Like OGCA or AGCA. Do we have enough interest in metro Atlanta or suburbs to do that?
Anyone a member of a local gun club that sounds like this?
That old grim reaper thinned out a lot of those old guys.

I'm not sure shows will ever be back to how they were back in the day , due to the political cliamate, and the media.Unless you travel to Tulsa.

A lot more tables yesterday with guns, gun related items, and ammunition. Did not see any dream catchers or an excess amount of junk. Saw some old friends from the long ago gun shows. Good time.

I went to the last show @the gwinnett co fair grounds...was mainly looking at optics and finger banging them...

almost anything I would have wanted to purchase...could be had cheaper at Bullseye...5 min down the road. not always looking for the cheapest price...but wtf? DD rifles were $200-400 more expensive than the LGS 5 min away. same for optics. no deals on new ****...hell **** deals, everything was over msrp.

When I lived in Jonesboro I'd always check out the RK shows, mostly because it was a 15 minute drive for me.
There will never again be the shows like they had back in the late 70's early 80s at the Lakewood Fairgrounds. Those things took up several buildings and you would get tired of walking before you ran out of cool stuff to look at.
I remember a guy selling Uzis out of the trunk of his car in the parking lot. He said 'they ran out of tables inside'...the deputy sheriff I was with bought 2 of them.

I’m a collector, buyer, and seller. I have been into this for the last 4-5 years and was lucky enough to have someone teach me the value of knowing more about the items I’m collecting than most of the people selling. If you know what to look for and have cash (like ISUOlympic said) deals can be had. Probably not on the new stuff but that’s what the internet is for I guess.

I have been setting up the last year or so at gun shows and I hear the same thing over and over again from the people that set up there…..basically all the things said above. I’ve been a member of communities before and I know this to be true. If you want it to be great you have to contribute, not just take.

So if people on here would take the initiative to go through there basement, and gather yon a few boxes of stuff that they bought and will never use, guns you are ready to move on, or projects you abandoned, we can get tables and the shows would be filled with stuff you don’t see everyday. Like the ODT show. I’ve been down with a foot injury the last few months and missing out on shows had been awful, the items I might have found. I will be back up soon and setting up at shows, I hope you guys will join me and let make gun shows great again!

No one has ever knocked on my door and offered me a great deal on a gun, I had to go find them!!!

me and my buddies back a few years ago would go and buy 100 dollar police seized saturday night specials that was fun. Got a tec 9 from same FFL guy that he had under the table for 200 bucks. Miss that stuff, police seize guns are always a bargain usually

gun shows are fun becasue there can be deals at them, really only ones I've found great stuff is the Atlanta Expo, that is if you are into milsurp or old stuff. Yea sometimes its a flop but I have gotten enough cool stuff from them to want to go back, but really just the ATL expo is the best bet

For those interested and want to join. The Colt Collectors show is Oct 6-9 in Concord, NC.
For those that have never attended, this show is 100% Colt's firearms and related items. Not just museum quality, but something for most every budget.
Membership gets you in free, dinner and Casino night on Friday, and an auction on Saturday night. Membership also gets you probably the best quality gun magazine each quarter.

Also, Louisville, KY Gun Day this coming weekend.

Two great shows pretty close to home. These will get you motivated.
