Pics?My grandfathers production yr colt 1911. It is also stamped Springfield armory under the left grip. Was issued to my great grandfather in ww1. He was KIA and it was given to his wife by his best friend. Sat in a cedar gun cabinet for 70 yrs with my grandfather then was passed on to my dad, then to me.
Still cool to see a gun that saw combat that long ago. So are you saying a serial number below 500 isn't important as one above?I'm out of town, will have pics mon for ya. Don't get excited the serial no is below 500 and it is beat to hell. Not worth a lot other than sentimental value
