what is yalls opinion on this subject, do yall think that the people selling on gunbroker have somebody that runs up the bids or am i just paranoid, its hard to win anything these days , i dont know if its sellers being greedy or consumers buying at any price regardless how much overpriced it is, i know they have deeper pockets than me

Of course sellers have friends run up bids. Been happening on ebay as well ever since I started buying on there back in 2000.
Set your limit, bid the max, and be done with it. If you win, you win. If you lose, you still win because you did not go above your comfort threshold. However, this is where the gambling addiction comes in for some people that get caught up in the hype of trying to inch their bids up little by little.

The market isn't as thin. More eyes on stuff. Lots of folks live in parts of the country that dont have access to a group of folks like TOT, bass pro, cabelelas, academy, etc. Online retailers dont have stock either so they have to turn to GB. Im selling shells on there for 50-100% more than what I have them listed here and surprisingly people are buying them. Sold some 20 gauge target loads for $1/round last night. i was shocked but i will take it,

Nobody is running up the bids as they'd have to PAY their seller's fee if their buddy 'won' the auction.
The market is crazy right now, obviously. With gun broker, you know it's in stock. People are willing to pay (sometimes stupid prices) for a guaranteed purchase.
When I bid on GB, and I bid on three items just recently, I determine what I am willing to pay for that item and bid that amount. Of course if what I am willing to pay is less than what has already been bid, I move on to another item. Once I bid the amount I am willing to pay for that item, I just wait for notification of being outbid or that my bid was the highest. I don't go up on my bid. This works for me and I have gotten some very good deals on GB in the past. Now, I do have to say have been outbid on all three item I bid on. But, that is OK because there will be others.
I believe "running up the bid" is extremely rare on gunbroker. People just like to believe they're being cheated without evidence for whatever reason. It would be extremely costly to sellers to run up bid when they get stuck with items and have to pay the fees.
Gunbroker is a sellers market, I've sold stuff on their that got way over book value for no particular reason. I'm sure some idiots on some of those items thought I or a buddy was running up the bid.
