It seems like some counties make it as difficult as legally allowed by state law. In Morgan county they wouldn't mail them to you at all. I had to leave work early just to pick it up. And that was 5 years ago. Gonna find out next week how we do it in Dawson County.
For future use, choose a more 2A friendly state that honors GA's license to issue you a non-resident permit and youll be better off. If GA is making it this difficult support a state that does honor constitutional carry like maine

Print the forms and follow the instructions. Yes, they could be better.
Notarize and drop in the their drop box inside. You’ll have to go through a metal detector so don’t bring in your weapon or pocket knife. Main Entrance is open on Saturday. Box is about 50yds from the main checkpoint just in front of the Probate office.
Temporary Permit arrived the follow week.
