My understanding the officer was shot 3 times in the back where there is little or no armor protection from the vest. A sad day in Griffin.

AJC article quotes shooter's aunt as saying that he did have permit. Hope that is not true.

Wouldn't count on that...... aside from the tragedy of his death, really sad thing is they may not get all of his LEO insurance benefits as he was "off duty".
