Are we seeing hand gun preferences specifically the caliber changing like from 45ACP to 9mm and 40S&W to 9mm? Or is it from big semi autos to smaller ones?

Most people are keeping their 40's now days because it's the best caliber
The difference in stopping power between 9mm, 40 and 45 today is neglible. So going to 9mm allows less weight, smaller package, less recoil, more rounds you can carry and cheaper to shoot.

It looks like 40 has lost favor since the FBI dropped it in favor of the 9. Most police departments were using the 40, but many seem to be following the FBI's lead. Along with that, many civilians are doing the same. The pocket 9 is a very popular platform.
I prefer .45GAP because Glock invented it.

From my collection I have a 45 ACP Glock G21 Gen4 with factory night sights on here and its just sitting, I'm not going to give it away. I have had it for several years and paid well above my asking price for it. excellent condition. And with that I have sold off a few 9mm from my collection in short order. Just asking
