I think a "1911" handgun sub-category would be pretty useful as a general search function in that section. Maybe replace "single shot" with it. I think there's enough variations and manufactures of that pistol to warrant it.

Again, there’s a category for single shot. Very useful
Which follows the template as the other firearms subforums. A subcategory for a specific fiirearm, whether it be 1911's, Glocks, ARs, whatever, isn't going to happen.
I just felt that there are enough varieties of 1911’s to make it work. I get that it differs from the definition of others I just think 1911’s as a sub category is still broad enough. It would be like revolvers.
No, it wouldn't. Revolver is an action type. I get what you're trying to say, but it's not at all the same thing.
Regardless of the semantics, adding subcategory filters for specific weapons isn't going to happen.
Mil-surp is a subcategory in rifles. Far from an action type. All I’m saying is if we’re going to have sub-categories at all, they might as well be useful. A “1911” category would be much more usefull to many more people than “single-shot” in the handgun section. But I get it. It’s not gonna happen. Enough said.
