Papa Bucks is not a good BBQ place to eat , JOMAX across to road is alot better.

Has there ever been a bad BBQ joint thread here?

They opened a Woody's Texas BBQ in McDonough a few years ago. It lasted all of about 6 months.
If it ain't pork it ain't BBQ, everything else is just grilling.

My wife likes Shane’s in Ellijay, their bbq taste like it’s out of a can.
Try any of that red slaw?
Never go to Hickory Prime outside of Dahlonega.
I have not eaten there in a few years but I liked it. The white sauce was great.
Over the years I've learned that if you see an older black guy cooking BBQ in the back of a pickup and selling it in a gas station parking lot you should definitely stop and get some.
You have to understand how BBQ competitions work. First, there are thousands of them, different rules, different organizations.
Then there is the Little League model, everyone gets an award. The sponsors make money of the entry fees, and they want all those folks to come back next year.
Most of the events have an award for "Best Booth Display" - says a lot about the que.
For ex. Eastern N.C. vinegar sauced BBQ is considered by many to be the finest BBQ in the world, but it has virtually no chance of winning any competition, because the judges are trained on a super sweet Memphis style saucing.
Jomax is my "go to" when on the way to the coast. 1,000 times better than Papa Bucks.
