You are in a very gray, misunderstood area in law enforcement. Many cops will arrest you, but no charges will be brought.
Your vehicle is an extension of your home. You are legally allowed to own a pistol, just not purchase one at a "dealer", or apply for a GWL yet. There is no statute for you to be charged with for carrying it in your vehicle. I'm a LEO and would not arrest you.
You are also gun educated.
Do NOT have any stickers referencing guns on your car. It will cause them to inquire about it.

I am not sure why he was patted down for speeding and an out plate light but whatever. He was pretty obviously speeding in the beginning and that was the reason for the stop not the sticker, but still it brought extra scrutiny on him.
