What is your preffered method of hearing protection? Ear plugs, ear muffs? Any certain brand or feature you like best?

I am kind of tired of the muffs because I like to wear a cap which make is uncomfortable and the muffs are very hot in the summer. The sqishy little plugs are a pain to take in and out when you want to speak.

What other options are there?

Try the "coated wire behind the neck" Peltors or some other electronic similar type. They're great for use with all types of headgear, including helmets. Having competed in small bore rifle for years without hearing protection (before it was required) I can attest first hand to the necessity of hearing protection if you want to enjoy sound later in life. I'm amazed at what the Peltors allow me to "hear" through the pick-ups that I otherwise would miss due to deafness.

My first preference is electronic muffs, but I've been trying out the Surefire Ear Pro lately and have liked them so far.
