Serious recommendation... glue boards lots of glue boards..place them together two or three deep- place in corners and under stuff, places likely accessed by a snake. Put them everywhere...if you don't catch him, it will give you peace of mind that he found his way out all by himself. Also you might ctach some rodents as it may be rodents that attracted dogs the snake to your garage in the first place. You can buy rat sized glue bakers at Walmart and Home Depot.

Caught a huge rat snake years ago. Used spray oil to free him from the glue board and released him to get more rodents.

They're in stock in any Walmart, household essentials, pest control. Buy several packs. You could staple a few together, to create more coverage, and prevent a snake from slithering off with them. Also catches mice, lizards, bugs, etc. Lay the glue traps flat, along the wall edges. You may want to consider getting a garage door, also.
