My wife found this old knife recently, and I’ve been trying to find out the age/make since then. It has no markings other than the scrimshaw, on what appears to be bone scales. There are no hallmarks, steel markings etc. Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys~

Quick update: I still haven’t found out who made it, but I can report that the steel used for the blade is excellent! While not real easy to sharpen, it takes an edge like few knives I’ve seen. I mean this thing is damn near scalpel sharp! I’m curious to see how long the edge lasts, so I’m going to clean it up nicely, oil it and carry it for a few days. Who knows? Maybe I’ll just keep it instead of selling it off! Could be a “new” family heirloom in the making...
