Are you sure you are not talking about scuppernogs? They are much larger and can be purple or gold? The wild muscadines that are in my woods are the same size as the ones pictured. A few are a bit larger, but never seen any muscadine anywhere near the size of a golf ball. Maybe there is a difference between wild and domesticated?

I stand corrected, we grew scuppernongs not muscadines, duh. My aunt did have a smaller musadine vine in her back yard.

my bad, I'm getting old and forgetful,,,and uh forgetfuller and older

If it had a grape-like leaf I would've tried these as soon as they turned dark. My love of muscadines is a source of humor among my coworkers. It's not unusual for me to set up my bucket-truck when I see them to pick them out of the treetops. Never liked scuplings (scupernogs) as much, I like fruit with a bit of tartness.

I don't know what they are but they darn sure aren't muscadines, scupperdines, scuppernongs, or fox grapes.
Look at the pics of the leaves the OP put up

Well, from the fact that your daughter is not projectile vomiting or pooping through a screen door right now should give you a pretty good indication that they are not poisonous.

If they were, even a very small quantity would have detrimental effects.

I'm certain there "Peppervine". If berry had been lighter color of blue then I'd think it was "porcelain berry".

Thank you Jimmy, you are king of the botanists. Apparently it's edible but commonly causes upset stomachs, which is what happened to my daughter.

I was losing hope in crowdsourcing, after so many people had muscadines on the brain.

Not poisonous but can irritate your throat and cause upset stomach. Some folks can eat without a problem.
