The 6.5 Creedmoor's only advantage over a .308 is seen beyond 800 yards.
 
.308 has been killing deer for decades. If it ain't broke don't fix it and ammo would be easy to find.
Ammo is easy to find in 6.5. Stocked everywhere with plenty of options.

He isn't fixing anything. He is buying new. Check out the SD's on common hunting rounds in 6.5 and 308. I bet you'll be surprised

How do you come to the conclusion that the advantage of 6.5 Creedmoor is only seen beyond 800 yards?

I hope people that ask for advice here know how to weed out the BS.
