Help picking a 1911

I've had Kimber, Springfield, Smith and Wesson, and Ruger. I no longer have the first three but I still have two Ruger SR1911's. I think they are a really good value. Mine shoot all types of ammo accurately and without hiccups. The only modification I did were the grip panels. I paid $650 for the first at the LGS and I paid $550 for the second one on the ODT! I won't badmouth the other makers, I just think the Ruger is an exceptional value for an American made 1911.

Guys, don't discount Springfield loaded, or range officer's...I consider them close to if not equal to the rugers

I had the original Springfield Range Officer & like it a lot. Now they have ambi safeties on them I think.

Get a Dan Wesson when the Christmas fire sale starts in a couple of weeks on ODT. Remember, cash is king for those needing it. Just make sure you get what you want and be prepared to spend a little time learning to shoot it correctly. If you get one, there will be more in your future.
