I've let plenty of larger bucks walk, no shame in it when a large doe comes in also. Which I prefer eating over bucks.

I should have aimed lower third. If I had, it would have been a clean kill.

If I ever see him again and confirm he lived, I'll feel a lot better about it. Even if I never get another shot at him.

After spotting him again on Sunday, I went back out and checked a few possible bedding areas the next day, but I'm convinced he's left the area completely at this point. He may eventually come back, but I seriously doubt he has yet.
