Anybody got a small crane or a med sized excavator that will pick up 900lbs to about 17 18 ft? I can come to you if you have such a piece of equipment. Boom up hold for 5 mins and sit down in the back of my truck.

Just rig that with some rope, z drag style or block and tackle, and a cleat (ascender/ or a simple prusik) to hold it..
Shouldnt be too dificult if you have some good quality rope.

Ya, you would need something. Could pull it up with truck...

17-18 ft is higher than most smallish excavators will lift a load (considering it hangs down from max lift...)

I Need to pull out a 454 from a Maxium 2700 scr cabin cruiser and go over the radar arch. Its 12 ft high.

Find an abandoned bridge or a not so busy one.

Maybe even float it if the tow boat can handle the load.

Just thinking out loud. I bet either way would be breaking a law.

Get a buddy that works with the power company to come out with the bucket truck to check the transformers, and while he's at it, lift the engine out.
