Hi-Caliber Gun Store. Anyone else have a bad experience with them ?

From the experience i have gotten over the years here. Some LGS' are good for certain things and some are good for others.
I bought basically my whole dillon 650 setup from them. All at standard dillon pricing. I also get surefire flashlights there too great pricing on those. Thats about it though.

Every now and then I find a good deal there... Luckily, I am local to the area, so I usually make a day trip out of visiting Hi-Caliber, Big Woods Goods, and Cherokee Gun & Pawn. Every now and then I go to GA Firing Line, but it is kind of out of my way. Hi-Caliber use to have much better customer service, but it has headed south in the past year. Their range is middle of the road, and certainly needs updating in the areas Cadcom hit on. Big Woods Goods has a nice range, but I will not shoot there due to their "one shot per three seconds" rule...Just not worth my time.

GA firing line updated their range, and it seems to be nice as well, but I have not shot there since the update was done. Their CS has greatly improved over the past year and is much better, and they keep a descent stock with ok prices, some elevated like Hi-Caliber. Bargain Barn in Jasper usually has a good selection of ammo, mostly SD, but prices are fair.

Hands down, Cherokee Gun & Pawn has the best inventory, selection & prices, with that good'ol boy CS I like... They will find you what you are seeking, and beat anyone's advertised price as well, just give them a call. I just wish they had a range....

I have been doing business there for a long time and I can assure you what happened was you dealt with someone who was too lazy to check...sucks to say but its the only thing I can think of. I can promise it wasnt malicious just plain lazy i would guess....Now with all that being said, I know 95% of the guys including the owner Sean who IMO are great guys to deal with and do business with, I like Sean own my own business and know what it is to deal with employees and customers, not ALL employees give a **** and I think you might have unfourtunately found that 1 that didnt.. I have always said from the first time I step foot in Hi-Caliber they lifted the stigma of gun shops, bad service, rudeness, shortness all those things I didnt get in that store and have been going back since and will continue. Sorry you had a crap experience.

hope while you were there you stopped at Big Woods Goods which is a bigger store the Hi Cal and is 1/4 mile away. And while you were at it you also should have popped over to CG&P which is only about 10ish minutes from Hi Cal

I regularly shoot at Hi-Caliber, but have never bought a gun there. Their prices are quite high, and they do not have many trades-ins. It is a full blown MSRP retail store. You won't find values here like you will at CGP.

if they charge more for an item then i can get it elsewhere i have usually been informed that by an employee or given a leeway if i brought cash. when i was trading in a shotgun one employee told me to come here where i can actually get some money out of it. i also purchased quite a few handgun form them and never got a bad experience.

they're range ventilation isn't as great as bwg's though
