History and price question on colt navy .36 cal sheriff model

Anyone got any info on this and price? It’s got a 4 digit serial number. I guess condition is 70%? It’s just a show room piece at the moment. I’m probably going to post it for sale here shortly. I don’t want to screw anyone, but I also don’t want to get screwed. It’s got the same 4 digit serial number on 5 or different places on the gun.

I can get better pics later. This is all I have on me.

I have no idea what the value of an original is but if I had to guess the prices have probably been driven down by all of the reproductions out there. I have a couple of those in 44 caliber. I think I paid $50 for one and $150 for the other. They are fun to mess around with in the yard but that has satisfied my desire to play with black powder. I couldn't justify paying serious money for another one even if it was original.

I did 150,xxx and up seem to be about 1200-1500 in similar shape to this one. Then there are random ones for $30-80k. Hahaha…so that why I posted here. I thought the 4 digit serial number and 1851 production date would be significant to its value.

It looks in suspiciously-good condition. Too good. Do you realize that there's a whole cottage industry of faking antique firearms? Somebody could put a low-digit serial number onto a modern Italian or Spanish made reproduction of a Colt.

No idea…I never really paid attention to the drawing since it’s kinda worn out. I’ll get it out tomorrow and take better pics and post them.

I can’t get good photos of the engravings for some reason. It’s not showing up in the pic. But the engraving is some kind of battle with horses, soldiers, and that chrysanthemum is a wheel to wagon that horses are pulling.
