Holding/Opening doors for women....

I do what is right. I hold the door, and if they don't say thanks, then they are just robbing their own joy. This is America, This Is the South, This is how I was raised. If people dont like it then sing them a sad song.

So what? You have no control over what other people do. There is little point in fretting about it. All anyone can do is their own personal best, lead by example, and hope that others follow.

SO WHAT?................................you just proved my whole point...Thanks..:thumb:

hell.. an eyecontact head knod is fine with me..

Yup, or a smile...something to acknowlege that someone has treated you decnetly. And no, being courteous is not just towards women, of course. Beyond your own children you really can't teach manners and politeness. You can only lead by example. Still, it's sad to see how rude, arrogant and apathetic so many people are and it is only natural to get annoyed from time to time. Do I NEED a "Thank you"? Nah. But just seeing a simple sign of appreciation encourages me to keep hope for our society.

And if I say "Your welcome" even when, or especiallly when my courtesy is ignored makes me a douchebag in some peoples opinions then I have to say that those people must be the kind of jackasses whose opinions mean nothing to me any way. Generally speaking I'd rather be considered a douchebag by some people here than step in dog ****. Both are equally worthless but only one is of any real annoyance.

And Wallace? was there someone singling you out that you felt the need to get defensive?
If people dont like it then sing them a sad song.

We're all proud of ya bro...thanks :)

Did you have a point? What makes you think you are better than someone else on any given day?

Let those without sin cast the first stone. Have you ever ignored someone, been rude, cursed? Let me answer for you. Yes, you have, because it's human. That's why they say, "To err is human."

Worry about how you live your life and don't waste your time worrying over things you can't control.
