Home based FFL

Getting an FFL is faster and less paperwork than a suppressor believe it or not.
Being home based there's sometimes some zoning issues though. Best of luck man! I can tell you from experience turning a hobby into a job is an awesome experience.

I hope you do it and make a real go of it. A little more to it than filling out a form and paying the fee. Inspections of site and books, is just a nuisance really, it's the distributors that won't sell to you because you dont have a store front that gets really irritating. If your just doing transfers and building some rifles for folks you're Golden. Trying to actually order and sell firearms can be frustrating for the home based FFL.

As a former holder of an 07 ffl with a 02 sot, I will warn you, they will NOT approve a hobbyist as a manufacturer. You will need to have a full time business. Manufacturing is a whole different can of worms.

Don't even get me started on the SOT. And don't forget ITAR likes to hit up 07s for a $2,300 annual fee.

I recommend going 01ffl to start off with.
