If he has room in the attic and close to that area, I'd run a ducted mini split with a supply vent on each side.I am looking into your family room high ceilings, the HVAC guy installed just a 10x6 vent. Which is basically about 100 CFM, and by using flexes the friction will cut it down to about 80 CFM..... Even if they installed TWO, won’t be enough.
