Homeowner Shot and Killed by Police after Shooting Armed Intruder....

This has always been a fear of mine... It shows how the stress of an active shooter situation goes horribly wrong.
A man defending his life, wife, home and property, is shot dead after killing an Intruder. The Police hear gunfire, encounter
the home owner, and shoot him assuming he is the intruder......

One should always describe to 911 who the good guy is, sad to hear,the LEO is going to have to live with this the rest of his life

I agree it sounds like the woman called and possibly failed to mention this...

I left for vacation one year, gone for a week, pull in to the house around 10pm from the Airport with the fam. Garage door is wide open... Have Car, 2 motorcycles, and 2
4 wheelers all with keys in them...Grab my .45 and decide I am going to clear the house. My wife calls 911. I tell her when officers arrive LET them know I am in there, with a pistol..

House is fine apparently garage door was not closed on way out on Vacay......

2 Cobb County cars show up. My wife tells them I am in the house and am armed. They said theye would wait until I stepped out, they proceeded to ask my wife jokingly if I needed a job.....

Put gun down. turn on all lights. Call 911 immediately.. The failure in this chain is letting 911 know of armed homeowner..

I'm going to have a talk with Mrs DWALK tonight about what to say to 911 in this situation, specifically letting them know if I am armed.
