I’m starting to really dislike Hornady brass. We were loading several hundred .357 Magnum rounds in mixed brass yesterday. When seating bullets, a handful didn’t feel like the press was camming over. Looking at them there was no crimp, where all the others had a good roll crimp. We kicked them off to the side to be dealt after we were done. Every one was Hornady brass, and was shorter than the rest of the brass by a few hundredths. We had to reset the die for them to crimp right.
Tonight I was sizing some .45 Colt, and noticed some were shorter when sitting in plastic ammo boxes. Sure enough, all the short ones were Hornady and were a few hundredths shorter that all the rest.
