Any body got any suggestions on grain wt of powder for this bullet.. I’ll probably be using hp-38.. which from what I understand is the same or very close to w-231.. the jug suggest 5.1 grains.. what do the experts say? Thanks in advance

I use HP 38 and use 4.3 to start and max out at 4.8.

No worries I’ve had the best luck with be86, iirc it’s basically power pistol with a flash inhibitor. I’ll dig my book out in the morning and give you a staring point if you want.

You're correct: HP-38 and Win 231 are the same exact powder.

But, I don't think I'd use that for anything but the lightest loads. Most in-the-book loads for 115s will be pretty anemic with that fast of a powder. Something slower can get you up into the 1200+ fps range, while HP-38/231 maxes out around 1115 or so.

That’s a similar bullet design to a Speer Gold Dot. This is what Hodgdon shows for HP38 and a 115 Gold Dot for 9mm
