How many kWh do you use in the summer?

I checked withe wife, our last bill was @ $300. We were having A/C issues and repairs. We had window units and fans going on and off during that time. 2200 sq ft, old house with window upgrades. We were also having appliance issues were she was running them multiple times more to do the same thing. I figure it would've @ $200 anyway. I'll know more on the next bill with new appliances and repaired AC. We both do work from home now too. And all our cooking is on electric. Our old house was gas
The previous house didn't have upgraded windows, 1400 sq ft and never got over $100. I probably had a little better insulation value in the attic. And the walls would've been a little better as well. Maybe a little shade as well too. It has been real hot this summer though. I think my power bill would've been over $100 now

3,300sf.....1,000sf fin base
My bill last month was the highest it's EVER been....over 1,971kWh...I've lived here for almost 30 years....
I don't know what happened, I did add another dehumidifier in the basement, run on a timer for around 8 hours a day....
I'm talking higher by over $100....my routine is simple, it's just me...nothing changes

This is how you see the real inflation rate. Take last year’s bill compared to this year and you’ll get a better idea than the government will ever admit. The only hope for relief is that dumb bitch Kamala doesn’t get elected but that will be a long shot I’m afraid

I actually did just that. Compared last years bill with this years. We actually used less this year and were charged close to $100 more. Again, greedy assholes at Georgia Power.

Basically that extra house worth of power is going somewhere in the form of heat. Probably from a loose connection or many loose connections. Possibly from a worn out motor.
You can figure out which circuits are pulling more than they should several different ways. I would check the tightness of every breaker, outlet, and connection to the major appliances.
A wire is going to burn up or a connection will burn. Hopefully your breakers are sized right or it could easily burn.
At 300+ a month I would hire someone and I usually try not to hire out work.

This was in jest, right? RIGHT?
Nope, I deal in commercial foodservice equipment and routinely get queries about our cost per kWh when we run the efficiency programs.
All other parts of the country are much higher….

Example- we are 14 cents per kWH, California is 35 cents….

I haven't used it much*
But, you can also log on to your account and they have a tool that shows the power usage by time. You could possibly use that to figure out which circuits are drawing too much power.
I don't think it is instantaneous, but, it should show changes fast enough for you to turn off several breakers for a little while and narrow down which ones need attention.
Otherwise I would bet you have some breakers that are hot. Hope that helps.

California is a poor comparison. Choose another state that's not trying to turn itself into a socialist hell hole.
