There is not one mag in my house that is not loaded...
That screen name though....
That screen name though....
I was told to only load 28 rounds if I was going to store them for a long time. Don't knowYou're not the only one. It has crossed my mind.
1, 7 rounds 45OK, so the good guy in Texas who returned fire used an AR15.
I'd never expect to have that situation come up, but then again who does? I keep 2 30 round mags loaded at all times and I always thought this was sufficient. Not so sure about that anymore?
For my 1911 Officer's edc, I keep a 7 round and 2 8 round mags loaded, of course I top off +1 when I carry.
So how many mags do you keep loaded on hand and what's your thoughts? I don't want to be paranoid and armed and ready for all-out war, but I don't want to be under-prepared either.
Loading 28/30 is what many people do to ensure that the mag is easier to seat on a closed bolt, also helps with feed lip fatigue too I'd imagine. I do it with my mags now.I was told to only load 28 rounds if I was going to store them for a long time. Don't know
if that would help, hurt or matter but I went with it.
