How many truck drivers we got on here?

I started trucking in 1996 but haven't driven professionally since 08.
Started out pulling haz liq and pulled everything except cars and flatbed. Had trucks that'd do a buck and a quarter loaded to around 93k and some that wouldn't get over 68 empty or loaded..
Outlaw truckers are a dying breed and still get my respect.

I traded driving a Tahoe every day for a living in for driving a peterbilt. Currently at my first stop about to unload. Got 3 more stop on this route.

The last remaining english speaking drivers are all in this thread. It is a different world out there these days. The once proud proffession of OTR truckers has been regulated to an entry level immigrant job. About the equivalent of mowing yards. Pretty soon the Teamsters will be ran by Slavs out of Chicago. But I see a lot of professions being over shunned by "Americans". About 10 more years and "Americans" will have no say in our national logistics.

One other thing. Amazon is doing it's best to dictate below market terms to all transportation providers. If you have any influence in this area at your company stay away from the temptation of Amazon. They will bankrupt your company.

Sure. I’ll squeeze in too since I used to drive a 67 Kaiser deuce n half.

Just watched a video last night on the history of Western Star. They close out the top 3 of favorites for me. The 4900 is one rugged truck! Are you a long hauler or regional?
I ran long haul for years, this year I have been staying in the south getting home regularly.

Its not just the drivers, brokers are now non English speaking taking over the load boards driving prices down. I call a broker he answers and in a middle eastern accent says, "Hello my name is John" to which I call b.s.
