How much should brush hogging cost per hour

Ended up renting a walk behind Brush Mower from Sunbelt Rentals. an Outback billy goat 26" I think, Cost about 110 a day before tax and insurance. Worked quite well. Did not get everything I wanted done, was just me doing it, but In another month or two I'll rent one again and see how much more I can get done

Cleared three paths between fields big enough to take a truck through two about 50 yards long, and one about 100 yards down and started through on the shooting lanes but did not Finish.

It pretty much ate everything 1.5 inches and smaller. I would use an axe on the bigger stuff after I went around it.

The fawns don't drop for a few more weeks where I hunt. So no problems there either with doing this now.

For a small job, have you considered renting a tractor and bush hog? If it is just grass... I think those walk behind DR mowers are about $125 per day to rent.

So about 300 bucks with taxes insurance and gas.. plus your time. It sounds like you may need to rent again to finish the job.. say another 300 bucks.

Sounds like you saved yourself a couple grand!

I know you may think he's kidding, and your rental made me think of it, but my neighbor actually rented a herd of goats that cleared his property WELL a few years ago. Still looks good today.
