Good enough reason to learn how to do it.
It can't be that hard.
it is
there are guys that rebuild them, but usually they are
transmission guys that have years exp. and are
doing it on the side
most specialize and offer a warranty and are honest
about their exp
typically you would pull your own trans and deliver
it to them
they honor their work, but if something does go
wrong you are in the hot seat having to pull
out the unit again a real p i t a
personally i wouldnt take the risk or go through
all that work or trust someone that said hey,
i want to be a transmission repair guy today
you could buy old trucks with bad transmissions,
rebuild them but you should drive them for a
period to make sure they are sound. this
could be fun and a good way to learn, but
the big jawgee gubments gonna have their
greedy slimey hands out every step of
the way eating into your profits with
their lovely huge title transfer fees
do more than 1 a year and you're considered a
dealer to boot. WTF Ga?
