How things used to be

Used to be able to raise 2 fingers off the steering wheel at people and they would wave back, .

My wifr calls it the "farmer's wave". They still do it in rural Iowa.

I remember the day the original Superman committed suicide and it was in the paper..Dad explained that he had one vulnerable spot behind his ear. And that is where he shot himself. I remember listening to the Shadow on the radio.

Mom used to get up early and cook a full breakfast before we would WALK two miles to school (she didn't work or know how to drive,and we lived in the country and the school bus's didn't come out where we lived)

Funny people ask me how I learned to cook so well? I told them Mom asked me when I was 8 or 9 if I was hungry..I said yes! she told me to get up and make a sandwich..And that my friends is how I learned to make meals.

Used to have to knock on every friends door to find out where they were. Walk the whole neighborhood for an hour to find 2 people. Now kids just call kids.
