How to remove spray paint?

I would like to know if any of you guys have advice on how to remove spray paint on a shotgun without stripping bluing or finish on wood?

Try some olive oil, but it works pretty slow.

Do you have to let it sit?

Just keep rubbing it like waxing a car. Oil paint is supposed to soften by adding oil to it. If they sprayed it with laquer about the only thing that will work there is thinner, and it'll take maybe the blueing, but definitely the varnish.

Wood refinish is not difficult, just takes time.

What finish is under the paint?

I once used hoppes semi auto Solvent to remove stuff on a gun

mineral spirits in control.. dont slop it.. you will use a whole roll of paper towels

Good news is hoppes and a lot of elbow grease appears to be working

Find that ad with the rattle canned AR. He says it can be easily removed. He knows the secret.
