I just set my 7 year old daughter up with my old daisy pump bb gun last week . We made a hanging target out of some plastic coke botttles. She's a hell of a shot at 10 yards, even if she does have trouble pumping it up.

Gave my granddaughter a BB gun at her 4th B-Day, showed her how to shoot it. Found out trigger was a little hard for her to pull. Then on her 5th a 22. Alot better
AGE...??? WELL MY LIL GIRL IS DUE THE END OF SEPT AND SHE WENT TO THE RANGE WITH ME TODAY TO GET USE TO THE SOUNDS. MOMMA WAS SO MAD SHE COULD NOT SHOOT THO. 
Little guy made good use of cover. My son had BB gun at 5 or 6 and .22 around 7.
