Hunting rifle set ups

Picked up this '57 Winchester 1894 (30-30) off Gunbroker about 8 months ago for a song. Not sure about the history of the rifle, but at some point, an owner inscribed his initials on the top right corner of the receiver (G.L.) I'm supposing this was one of his favorite rifles and possibly the original owner. Similar condition rifles were selling for 200-250 more (without initials), so I said what the hell, can't go wrong. It's all original finish, with few imperfections. I figured G.L. might be "good luck". Seems to group well off hand and the trigger is great for what it is. It's a keeper.

After all the very nice setups I've picked up on here and the other sites over the last 8 years, I've finally settled on my favorite and definite "keeper". M77 MKII laminate/stainless in the always reliable 30-06 caliber. Took my biggest buck to date with it last season, so it's become my "go to" rig in the woods..........

My 1969 Remington 700 bdl .30-06 is still my go to, has been for years now. However my new bad weather rifle is going to be my suppressed Arsenal Sam7SF rifle. It’s all camo now not black.

Hey guys don't forget to add your squirell getters. Opening day for tree rats is only 3 weeks away. Can't wait to kill something!

Time to bump this thread. Let's see those deer hammers.

Cabin fever is setting in man. Here are a few for your viewing pleasure.

MRH MRH , these two deer came off of Ft Perry WMA, down near your place.
We’ll be back down there again for another youth quota hunt this season with any luck. We found a bunch of persimmon trees that the deer were absolutely hammering!

24on48hunting 24on48hunting - You killed a pine tree with your 7600 06? How'd it taste? Or was that a trophy hunt?
We are rather selective in our timber “harvest” It was rather tough. Must have been a really old tree on the decline. Needed a lot more salt!
Seriously though, that tree got plowed into by a doe on her “dead run” after being introduced to a 220gr Core Lokt bullet.
