Hunting with MILSURP/8mm mauser

Does or has anyone hunted with a g43 or k98 ww2 era mauser? Im sure they have, I am just not seeing any forum chats about it. I am putting a shooters kit in my g43 and planning on using it next year. Not sure what rounds to use in it yet. Anyone done this?

Pretty sure that’s what Jack O’Connor hunted with in his youth. No experience myself. Norma makes hunting ammo for it.
