Just as the title says. I have double units, a 2.5 and a 3 ton. The 2.5 is the downstairs unit and it keeps tripping.

I had this problem last year and the HVAC guy said to call and electrician since he didn't find anything wrong with the unit.

I would think that both units would have double 30 AMPS, but that is not the case.

Anyone an electrician or recommend one in the Bold Springs/Dacula area?

I wonder what is powered by a 2 pole 20amp breaker, maybe the fan is a 208v 20amp?

Have you taken the dead front off and checked for loose connections?

Lots to consider.
May have cheaped out on the wire run/breaker for the downstairs unit and the unit draws too much current for the breaker on startup. If you're not comfortable around electricity, your best option is to get an electrician out to check. Maybe someone on here lives nearby and would check for you.
