I like planting but I would starve as a farmer
Everytime Ive planted them they got mowed down. Rabbits and squirrels love them too.
Gotta love those squirrels, always bite the hand that feeds them.

Yes they will feed on rye grass really well I once planted half of my plot in winter wheat and half in rye grass. The wheat looked great but they would walk through it to get to the rye grass so that’s what I use and works for me plus it’s very reasonable
I think a little of it all helps.we really seen a difference when we started planting summer plots,my opinion you draw them in summer and they find they have no reason to leave.im not talking about 1/4 acre iron clay peas plant as much as you can.
If you add crabapple trees to your existing lures you will not regret it . They're free to cheap , easy grow , and I've never seen deer go crazier over anything. My2cents
Millions of years of evolution did not attune deer to search for weird shaped barrels that magically spit out corn. It attuned them to search for actual growing plants........in the ground!

Might try crab trees, I have plenty of space. I do need to gather a lot of “trash” in areas that were clear cut and replanted. I’m trying to keep 5-6 acres open.
