They tour around the country with several different warbirds. Depends on what you want to fly but they sell rides from about $300. I'd love to fly a P-51 Mustang but I don't have a spare $2,300 right now.

In 1944 my grandfather flew 30 combat missions over Germany as the navigator on a B-24 bomber. Today there is only one B-24 in the world that is still flying. A few days ago my dad and I flew on Diamond Lil and I had the honor of taking my grandfather's crew position behind the co-pilot during takeoff. I carried his wings with me.

I wonder if your granddad knew Ben Smith Jr. He flew missions with the 8th air force and wrote a book called chicks crew.
