yup, it's just messed up all the way around...I don't see a cure/fix. Not one that will reasonably work and peeps can agree on. The amount of waste and fraud in the govt is rampant, won't ever be solve without a major sweep and reboot.

Had one split for forward assist, of course dont have a replacement.

Why can't we use something other than roll pins that dont fit, are painful to install, painful to remove, break, etc.

What kind of punches were you using?

Roll pin starter punches...the ones that are hollow in the middle...they work wonders and are $18 in brownells or Amazon

It would need to be sorta small, but secure....like a detent pin? ( Just brainstorming)... I don't really see taping the hole for a screw or threaded type fastener. I think dwblock may be on to something with the set pin idea.
